How Media can Help!
The Canadian news media (print, TV, radio and online) have a huge role to play in helping to educate Canadians on the crisis in Darfur. Using the STAND model of “Education + Critical Mass of Canadians = political change”, media occupy a central hub of the education aspect of public awareness.
We realize, however, that the pressures of the news cycle often push journalists towards watered down or reproduced news. Working in conjunction with STAND, journalists are able to utize our experience and expertise to craft unique, engaging and powerful stories!
