This month: tensions and distrust remain high between Sudan and South Sudan despite a warning from the UN Security Council and a return to the negotiating table; China has offered South Sudan $8 billion in development funds for road, hydropower, infrastructure and agriculture products; and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) unanimously endorses Resolution 2046, which includes an African Union initiated road map intended to end the conflict between Sudan and South Sudan.
